Philosophy
At Free To Be Me Preschool in Mar Vista Los Angeles we strive to show, by example, that all people and creatures are valuable.
Our goal is to foster in the children an appreciation and respect for nature in their discovery of the world around them. Our philosophy is based on trusting the child’s innate ability to learn and to developa true sense of self by offering age appropriate assistance in their development.
Children learn to play cooperatively not competitively, and are encouraged to express their emotions while learning not to hurt others. We focus on the non-judgmental message that all feelings are partof human nature and that the child’s world view is understood and accepted, yet limits are set with an emphasis on helping children understand the effects of their decisions and actions on others and themselves. We help the children become active participants in resolving their own conflicts.
We encourage each child’s creativity with a mix of planned and spontaneous activities. Our intent is to spark their individual interests and talents. With parent education and participation we strive to build a strong community while fostering a supportive bridge between
home and school.
